Our Anti-Racist Action Plan

We are dedicated to creating an artistic community in which every Black, Indigenous, and Person of Color (BIPOC) feels seen, heard, and celebrated in the work we do together. We know that in practicing anti-racism, we give ourselves the power to dismantle a myriad of oppressive constructs, including ableism, gender & sexual orientation discrimination, capitalism, and more. By centering BIPOC in our policies, practices, and culture, we can begin to heal our larger community together.

We are currently rebuilding our organization to align with our belief in non-hierarchical, collective-based leadership. We are using this restructure to dig into how we as an organization have upheld white supremacy in our structure, policies, practices, and company culture in the forms of power distribution, inflated sense of urgency, fear of conflict, and more. Our goal is to rebuild our organization in a way that puts people first, promotes transparency, and prioritizes consent-based decision making. To learn more about our new organizational structure, you can check out our How We Work page.

This is not an exhaustive plan; our full Anti-Racist Action Plan will be made available for feedback and response from our community by September 2021. We plan to host a town hall to get feedback from our community about our drafted Anti-Racist Action Plan this summer.
